Diamdel, a De Beers company responsible for the sale of rough diamonds within Namibia was officially established in 2005 as part of an initiative between DeBeers and the Namibian government aimed at increasing the value-addition processing of Namibian diamonds within Namibia.
Originally established in Antwerp in 1964, Diamdel aims to cater for and develop the diamond market and industry within Namibia. Diamdel contributes towards the creation and establishment of a sustainable market within Namibia by insuring an availability of quality product, knowledge and skill support for business ventures ranging from well established operations through to small visionary and developing businesses within Namibia. Diamdel operations are forecasted to create increased wealth for the Namibian people and contribute to the eradication of economic related problems such as unemployment and poverty.
Diamonds as a raw-material of Namibia are the heritage of the Namibian people and Diamdel is a vehicle ensuring that Namibians remain primary beneficiaries of the proceeds resulting from this precious stone.
