	Namdeb Hospital Services Namdeb Private Hospital is amongst the most well equipped medical institutions in Namibia with recourses of the highest quality and latest technology. The hospital comprises of maternity, peadiatric high care and private room wards, two operating theatres, a casualty and outpatient theatre and a dental department. The following paramedical services support the other services: A dispensary run by two pharmacists A Laboratory run by two laboratory technologists A Physiotherapy Department – Two Physiotherapists A Social Services Department – One Therapist An Occupational Health Section – Occupational Health  officer &  2 nurses First Aid Section – One Professional Nurse An Oranjemund Health Education Project – Dealing with Education on Health issues but more so especially focusing on HIV/AIDS - This initiative is a first of its kind in Namibia within the business Sector and the State. This initiative is also used by other businesses within the country and the De Beers Group as an example of a well run employee wellness programme. The hospital is staffed with six general practitioners and several nursing professionals. The professional services are supported by visiting specialists of the following disciplines. General Surgeon Gynaecologist Dermatologist Ophthalmologists Paediatrician Clinical Psychologist Orthopaedic Surgeon ENT Surgeon Physician Orthodontist & Maxillofacial Surgeon Namdeb Hospital assists in the Namdeb mining operation as well as other mining operations around the town. In order to provide the best possible service the Hospital is equipped with a Helicopter to cater for De Beers Marine Namibia vessels off the coast and where necessary facilitating emergency evacuations and providing necessary medical assistance to De Beers Marine Namibia vessels. Other mining operations that benefit from services rendered by Namdeb Hospital include the likes of Rosh Pinah and Scorpion Zink mines. In the case of needed specialized medical services or emergencies our patients are transported by the Company aircraft to Windhoek or Cape Town. The Company airlift for patients is provided on a weekly basis to our booked employees. We utilize emergency evacuation service providers such as the SA Red Cross Air Ambulance, Med Rescue, Netcare 911 or service providers in Namibia to fly our patients to the nearest better resourced health facility. We source medical doctors experienced in general surgery, gynaecological, orthopaedic surgery, clinical medicine and paediatric medicine and are especially selected to deal with this type of environment. Our hospital was the first hospital in the Country to be accredited for the second time by COHSASA (Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa) an internationally recognized peer reviewing body.
